Back again for a Thursday night set at @symcoweekender the one, the only HOWLIN' JAY CRAPSER!!! Howlin' Jay started spinning records when he was 5, on a suitcase style Zenith, that he still has to this day. It was a gift from his Grandfather, one of the first radio and TV repairmen in Racine. Tearing the grooves off of his Mom's 45's, including original Elvis, Jerry Lee, and Little Richard singles, the groundwork was laid for his future collection. He built his first Radio Shack broadcast station when he was 9, and sent an AM signal to his Mom in the kitchen. Little did he know where it would take him many years later. Dragging home bags full of vinyl would become a regular occurrence. Nightclubs, bars, weddings, dance parties, and car shows are all part of the history, but he continues to bring a special blend to the tables.
Howlin' Jay is not only the host of Symco Radio, but he'll also be doing a special hot rod and surf set on Thursday in the Unionville tavern. You can be assured that he'll always keep you guessing with tunes you may have never heard before. Scratching deep below the surface, he strives to bring you the stacks of wax with the platters that matter, and the rarities of Rock 'n' Roll!
Jay's Thursday night slot has become one of the most popular in the Unionville Saloon. Don't miss him on Thursday and piping through the PA system throughout the weekend.
