Achilles is one of the lesser known asteroids, and I have rarely seen it be used in people’s charts or astrology. In my opinion, this asteroid can be rather important, especially depending on its conjunctions. On a basic level, Achilles serves to represent hubris (the fatal flaw of pride) and grief; the name ‘Achilles’ in itself means grief, pain, and distress. It is of my belief that Achilles can serve to give insight on where your pride may be so great it only does more harm than good: remember, everything in moderation. One can also look to this asteroid in understanding what you are arrogant about and how you are arrogant. Arrogance and pride are a volatile pair, so be weary. I’m back; I’ve been away because I only want to post content that I am proud of. Anyways, today’s asteroid is Sappho. Disclaimer: this is my interpretation of it. In our charts, this asteroid serves to represent literary (specifically in poetry) genius and creativity, along with lesbian love (though it should be noted that this doesn’t necessarily indicate lesbianism or female homosexuality, but is likely more significant for lgbt ladies), independence, feminism, and the breaking of gender roles and stereotypes. I’m the Draconic chart, this asteroid can be regarded as presenting these characteristics in terms of being intrinsic, such as a natural gift for writing and poetry, or a natural inclination to break gender roles and/or stereotypes.

Chiron is a comet named for the most well known centaur of Greek Mythology, Chiron. Chiron can be interpreted in our charts as giving us insight into the cross we have to bear; the on going pain in our life. In the Draconic Chart, Chiron can be looked at for guidance and understanding of innate pain and hurt you have felt, and will likely always feel, in our life and the others you have/will live. In the Natal Chart, one may interpret Chiron as representing long-lasting pain in your life from the experiences you have experienced in this world, but in the Draconic Chart, it can be viewed at as the pain you have carried over throughout all of your lives, and all the versions of yourselves in parallel worlds. But Chiron is also the healer, and we can look to him as a source of healing, not only ourselves, but those around us; he was a great teacher, and there is much we can learn from him, and much we can then teach from him.

The Draconic Descendant represents the relationships you need over the ones you desire; it’s a bitter pill to swallow, but sometimes what we want isn’t what we need. By understanding your Draconic Descendant, and then applying that along side your Natal Desc. you’ll likely be able to better balance and acknowledge what you need and what you want. Self-awareness is key when forming relationships with those around you, and as cliché as it is, you have to find yourself and learn to love yourself before you search for others to give your love to. The Descendant is often the parts of you that you repress, or merely don’t acknowledge; because of this, it becomes easy to project these qualities onto others through your relationships, or amplify them from your perspective. Therefore, but getting in better touch with yourself, not only do you learn how to cope and become the best version of yourself while not pushing the ‘bad’ parts away, but rather, embracing them and learning how to work with them, but you also learn how to manage these traits in your relationships, whether they are coming from you, your partner (or friends/family; doesn’t always have to be romantic) or both. Understanding your Draconic Descendant is a key part of understanding what you need from your relationships, just how understanding your natal descendant can give you key insight in understanding what it is you want from said relationships. Despite what you need not always being what you want, it all comes down to balance; it’s important to have your needs met, but it’s similarly important to have a relationship you genuinely enjoy for more than /solely/ having your needs met; relationships are so much more deeper and complex than just one or the other.

The Draconic Midheaven can be interpreted similarly to your Natal MC; the difference is that, rather than giving insight into your career, it can give you insight into what your soul can achieve at its highest potential [note: this is not the same ‘potential’ as your Draconic Sun; it refers to your interaction with the Universe, rather than solely yourself]. Unlike in your NC, your Draconic MC may carry more significant value when applied to your relationships, the way you exist in the world, and the kind of person you are and desire to become. It is meant to represent your soul’s path in the grand scheme of things, while your Natal MC represents your path in this particular life. I just want to add: always remember that Astrology can be used as a guide for you in life, but do not let it dictate how you live said life!
